Hospital Outpatient Departments (HOPD)
At some point, you and your child may be visiting a hospital outpatient department (HOPD). HOPDs are clinics that are part of and operated by the hospital, whether located on the main campus or at an off-campus location. Your child’s providers and the care you receive will remain the same.
Billing Breakdown
While your care team remains the same, services are billed differently because this clinic is part of the hospital.
You may receive two or more separate bills for your visit. One bill will come from the hospital for operating the clinic (such as support staff, supplies, and office space), and additional bills may come from each provider involved in your care.
