Store Bought Snacks (June 2026)
Balanced snacking is about consistency, not about perfection.
My favorite hack to keep me from reaching for a bag of chips is a snack basket or spare bowl by the door. Do you have a place for your purse, wallet, and keys? Put your snack stash beside it! When pairing your snacks, we want to focus on choosing a carb with either protein or fat. Bonus points if you hit all three.

After-School Snack Board (May 2026)
When it comes to snacks, simple is best! One of my favorite and easy ways to get nutrients in is a snack plate.
For our balanced board, we added:
- Chocolate hummus and apples for sweetness
- Hummus and colorful chopped veggies for fiber
- A nut butter and crackers for healthy fats
- Fruit, such as berries and citrus, for vitamins
- Pickles for a little something salty
- A turkey stick for protein
- ...and other yummy items to fill in space.
They’re great for after school or to keep on hand during the weekend.
The best part of this board is the flexibility to add and remove items that best suit your family’s dietary needs.
